TRAVERSE CITY, Mich. - Chicago Blackhawks forward prospect Nick Schmaltz did not play Saturday against the Detroit Red Wings in NHL Prospect Tournament and is day to day with an undisclosed injury.

Schmaltz played throughout the Blackhawks game against the St. Louis Blues on Friday night and spoke to the media after the game.
Schmaltz 2014 first round draft pick of the Blackhawks, become professional earlier this offseason after finishing his second season at the University of North Dakota. It is expected to compete for a spot on the NHL Blackhawks list this season.
